Our Services
Structural Review
Review of the load-bearing system of existing or proposed structures, with safer and more economical alternatives where appropriate.
We review the load-bearing system of proposed structures, existing structures and ready-made truss and ceiling systems to be used at trade fairs. Loads, sections and connections are recalculated and we report whether the structure is adequate.
Where members are inadequate or heavier than necessary, we propose alternative sections and systems so that the structure is both safe and economical.
What we deliver
Structural adequacy report
A report with the model, load combinations and capacity checks demonstrating whether the structure is adequate.
Rigging-point and support reactions
Rigging-point reactions for suspended trusses and ceilings, and support reactions for structures.
Improvement proposals
Section changes or strengthening for inadequate members, and economical alternatives for oversized members.
Revised reports
Updated reports for the organiser or inspectorate following changes.
Fields of application
- Ready-made trusses and suspended ceilings
- Exhibition stands
- Existing steel structures
- Extensions and alterations
- Signage and facade signs
- Event structures
Our process
- 01
Project documents
We receive the architectural drawings, 3D model or DWG files, the intended use and, where applicable, the trade fair's technical regulations.
- 02
Structural analysis
Loads, members and connections are designed in accordance with the applicable codes and regulations; alternative sections and systems are proposed where required.
- 03
Report and drawings
The signed structural calculation report is issued for approval, and the fabrication drawings and cutting list for the workshop.
- 04
Construction support
Technical support during fabrication and erection, and prompt engineering responses to queries raised during the approval process.
Frequently asked questions
Do you review reports prepared by other firms?
Yes. We review the structural calculation report and drawings, check the assumptions, loads and verifications, and report our findings.
Do ready-made truss systems require calculations?
For trusses and ceilings suspended at trade fair venues, organisers commonly require calculations showing the rigging-point loads. Send us the truss type, span and the equipment to be suspended, and we will prepare the calculations.
What information is required for a quotation?
Existing reports and drawings, or photographs and dimensions of the structure, together with its intended use and the required delivery date.
