Our Services
Signage and Pylon Structural Calculations
Signed structural calculation reports for pylons, billboards, rooftop and facade signs, designed for wind and seismic actions.
Pylons, billboards, rooftop and facade signs present a large surface to the wind, so wind is usually the governing load. We design the supporting steel structure, its connections and the anchorage reactions for wind and seismic actions, and prepare a signed report.
We have also designed tall and cantilevered signs, such as the illuminated facade logo mounted on cantilever brackets between the 23rd and 26th floors of Luxera Towers.
What we check in a sign design
Wind load
Wind actions according to the size, mounting height and location of the sign.
Supporting structure
Strength and deflection checks of the pylon, cantilever brackets and sign frame.
Connections and anchorage
Connection details to the facade, roof or foundation, anchor bolts and reactions.
Seismic actions
Seismic actions on rooftop and facade signs, based on AFAD seismic hazard data.
What we deliver
Signed structural calculation report
A report ready for submission to the authority, building management or owner.
Connection forces and reactions
Loads transferred to the facade or foundation, for anchor selection.
Fabrication drawings
On request, fabrication drawings and cutting lists for the structure.
Revised reports
Updated reports if the dimensions or position change.
Our process
- 01
Project documents
We receive the architectural drawings, 3D model or DWG files, the intended use and, where applicable, the trade fair's technical regulations.
- 02
Structural analysis
Loads, members and connections are designed in accordance with the applicable codes and regulations; alternative sections and systems are proposed where required.
- 03
Report and drawings
The signed structural calculation report is issued for approval, and the fabrication drawings and cutting list for the workshop.
- 04
Construction support
Technical support during fabrication and erection, and prompt engineering responses to queries raised during the approval process.
Frequently asked questions
Does a sign require a structural report?
Municipalities and building managements may request a structural report for large, tall, facade-mounted or rooftop signs. Send us the dimensions and location and we will assess it with you.
What should I send?
The dimensions and weight of the sign, its mounting height and location, the supporting surface (facade, roof, ground) and any drawings or photographs.
Do you prepare reports for rooftop signs?
Yes. We design the sign structure and its connections, and state the loads transferred to the building separately in the report.
How long does it take?
This depends on the size of the project and the completeness of the documents. After reviewing them, we confirm a firm delivery date together with our proposal.
